Ultimate_Process_3d_visualisation_with_Maya_2010

There is the ultimate process to achieve 3d architecture visualisation,

Autocad 2009, 2010 :

Clean up , Save as .DWG

Autodesk Revit 2009 64 bit :

Import Autocad plan FIle-->Import/Link --> CAD Formats

Current view only

Import Unit (choose one ),Cause "Auto detect" never never work.

I'm importing meters

Modelise in Revit...

Default 3D view Fine representation (adding some 3d details sometimes hide)

no selection needed

File-->Export--> CAD Formats AutoCAD 2004 .DWG Files (*.dwg)

Options-->One DWG unit is (Choose one ) I'm working with centimeter.

Solids(3Dviews only) Export as polymesh.

Naming Automatic-Long(Specify prefix) Save.

Open Autodesk 3ds Max 8 (not working with any other recent 3dsmax)

File-->Import-->AutoCAD Drawing (*.DWG,*.DXF)

choose your file

Default import

no selection needed

File-->Export-->Wavefront Object (*.OBJ)

Group by Material Use materials Creat material library Geometry Faces Quads (More clean that triangles).

MTL Export Scene mateials Export maps

Autodesk Maya 2010 64 bit :

File Import Options File Type : Obj

ok

Select all Geometry

Window-->General Editors-->Attribute Spread Sheet-->Render

Select all Visible In Reflections and Visible In Refactions

Change from Off to On.

Select all Geometry

Edit UVs--> UV Texture Editor (The last one) Right Clic-->UV

clic F (Show all UV),

select all UV With the UV selected clic R (Shortcut for Scale)

Go into the XYZ numerical transforms Type for all 0.01 then "shift+enter" to apply the scale to the UV Texture Editor.

If some artecfact appears on some face (Black surfaces) select face Normals-->Set to Face (Default Setting)

Addittional step

Select all Geometry F9 (shortcut for Vertex access) Select all vertex.

Edit Mesh-->Merge (Default Setting ) Windo-->Rendering Editors-->Hypershade

Select all shaders

Go into Attributes Spread Sheet-->All Ambient Color To Zero. and Reflectivity to Zero.

Done.

Why not using Revit 2011 Export Doesn't Work.

Why not Exporting With FBX doesn't Work.

Why not using Max 2011 Doesn't Work.

Why not importing straight into Maya 2010 Doesn't Work.
